Introduction of the use of methyl silicone oil

Aug 19, 2019

Methyl silicone oil has many special properties, such as small temperature coefficient, high temperature resistance, high oxidation resistance, high flash point, low volatility, good insulation, small surface tension, no corrosion to metals, and no toxicity. Due to these characteristics, silicone oil has excellent effects in many aspects. Among the various silicone oils, methyl silicone oil is the most widely used, and is the most important type of silicone oil, followed by methylphenyl silicone oil. Various functional silicone oils and modified silicone oils are mainly used for special purposes.
Uses: There are a variety of different viscosities. It has high heat resistance, water resistance, electrical insulation and low surface tension. Commonly used as high-grade lubricants, anti-vibration oils, insulating oils, defoamers, mold release agents, polishing agents and vacuum diffusion pump oils. Methyl silicone oil is most commonly used. In addition, there are ethyl silicone oil, methylphenyl silicone oil, nitrile-containing silicone oil, and the like.
Methyl silicone oil is generally colorless (or light yellow), odorless, non-toxic, non-volatile liquid. Silicone oil is insoluble in water, methanol, glycol and -ethoxyethanol. It is miscible with benzene, dimethyl ether, methyl ethyl ketone, carbon tetrachloride or kerosene. It is slightly soluble in acetone, dioxane, ethanol and alcohol. . It has a small vapor pressure, a high flash point and a flash point, and a low freezing point. As the number of segments n varies, the molecular weight increases and the viscosity increases. Thus, the silicone oil can have various viscosities ranging from 0.65 centistokes to millions of centistokes. If low-viscosity silicone oil is to be produced, acid clay can be used as a catalyst, and telomerization can be carried out at a temperature of 180 ℃, or sulfuric acid can be used as a catalyst, and telomerization can be carried out at a low temperature to produce a high-viscosity silicone oil or a viscous substance which can be made alkaline. catalyst.
